Let’s be honest. All of us are broken. Some of us are broken physically – our bodies don’t work like we wish they would. Some of us are broken mentally. Others of us are broken spiritually – we’re far away from God and don’t know how to get back. And some (most) of us have broken relationships.
On Wednesday, February 22, at 7 p.m. we’ll have a service of healing and reconciliation to start the season of Lent. Lent is period of 40 days where slow down, look introspectively at our lives, and prepare ourselves for Easter. This service will be at Hillsdale UMC. At this service, I’ll preach from Matthew 11:28 where Jesus says, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”. We’ll talk about how not to be so weary and tired in our daily lives and what it means to rest in Jesus. Best of all, you’ll have the chance to leave your burdens behind in a very tangible way (you’ll have to come to see exactly what I mean, but it should be cool).
At our service you’ll have the chance to be anointed with healing oil if you’d like, and our prayer team will be available should you like someone to pray for you. This should be a very spiritual service and we hope you will attend. If you have any questions, please let me know. There will be a nursery for small children.
Please know that if you can’t come to the service but are in need of healing, I’m always willing to pray with you at any time. Just let me know.
