At New Story Church we believe in walking the walk. Each year we serve and give out tens of thousands of free meals, have a homeless shelter that serves hundreds of people, minister to hundreds of at-reach kids, give out tens of thousands of pieces of clothes, and more. Interested in being a part of changing our community? Here’s how:
Free Clinic: In September we will open our free health and wellness center. We need lots of volunteers and would love for you to be a part of what we are doing. If you are interested in helping, please email Ruth here.
Free Clinic Information Meeting: On Tuesday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m. we’ll have a meeting for anyone interested in volunteering in any way at our free clinic. It will also be a chance to tour the space. This will take place at our Waughtown campus, 1024 Waughtown Street, Winston Salem.
Free Community Meal: Every Monday we serve well over 100 adults and kids in the Waughtown community a free meal at our Waughtown Campus. Come at 5 if you’d like to help cook, or at 5:30 if you’d like to help serve. 1024 Waughtown St. If you’d like more information about helping in this area, please let us know!
Clothes Closet: The 2nd and 4th Monday of each month our clothes closet is open from 5-6 p.m. at our Waughtown Campus. If you’d like to help give out or sort clothes, please come any time between 4 and 6 p.m. If you are interested in getting more info about helping in this area, please email Ruth here
Homeless Shelter: Every year from December through March we run an overflow homeless shelter at our Peter’s Creek campus that houses up to 20 people a night. We serve them dinner, give them a warm, safe place to sleep at night, and send them out the next day with a meal. Each October we open the volunteer schedule.
At-Risk Kid’s Ministry: During our worship services at our Waughtown and West End Campuses we minister to hundreds of at-risk kids each week. We worship, play games, do crafts, and most of all, make them feel loved and that there are people that care about them. If you are interested in getting more information about helping in this area, please email Jessica here.
